Did I see a flash of blue among the trees rising to the sky? Is it my imagination taking wings or is it a miracle of nature?
The soul has illusions as the bird has wings: it is supported by them.
The Indian roller (Coracias benghalensis) is a bird belonging to the family Coraciidae. It measures 30–34 cm, with a wingspan of 65–74 cm and weighs 166–176 g. The bird has pinkish face and throat while the head and back are black. The blue colour on the rump with a contrasting light and dark blue on the wings and tail gives the bird a surreal beauty. The bright blue markings on the wings are prominent in flight. Both females and males are similar in appearance.
Indian roller is the state bird of three Indian states – Odisha, Karnataka & Telengana
